Hearing Aids
Although we all know hearing aids are delicate devices and try our best to take care of them, accidents happen and they can become damaged. Should one of your hearing aids become damaged – usually evident by a whistling noise or sustained feedback – our trained professionals will perform repairs in-house.
Styles of Hearing Aids
Hearing aids are available in many styles to meet the unique needs and types and degrees of hearing loss individuals have. The most common types of hearing aid styles include (from least visible to most visible):
- Invisible in canal (IIC)
- Completely in canal (CIC)
- In the canal (ITC)
- In the ear (ITE)
- Receiver in canal (RIC)
- Behind the ear (BTE)
The degree of hearing loss you have typically dictates the style of hearing aid you can choose. Individuals with mild hearing loss have the most options available and can choose the smaller, or least visible hearing aids. Those who have more severe hearing loss will typically require larger devices.
Hearing Aid Batteries
Hearing aid batteries are the life of your devices. They are sold in color-coded packages, which indicate the size of the battery. The style of your hearing aid will determine the size of battery required.
