Hearing Care for Stanwood, WA
After working locally for corporations for several years and all the changes that go on behind closed doors, our owner and Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist, Tonia MacPhail, decided to branch out on her own. Tonia has been helping the hearing impaired for many years.
“I have lived in this community for almost 25 years. Most of the patients I see are family, friends, and parents and grandparents of my kid's friends. I live, work, and shop in this community. I will always do right by my patients.” – Tonia MacPhail, A.A.S., HIS
We believe in customer service and care. Our new location opened on April 1st, 2019.

Owner, Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist
“In 1997, I relocated from the Seattle suburbs to Stanwood to raise my two girls in our wonderful, small community. After spending years in the customer service and insurance industry, I wanted a change and in 2007, I was lucky enough to be hired at our local hearing center. I started as the office assistant setting up the electronic insurance billing system but was quickly promoted to office manager. For the first time in years, I found what I loved to do. When the opportunity to attend school and learn how to test and fit hearing aids, I jumped on it. I have always said, “When you love what you do, you’ll never have a bad day.” That statement couldn’t be truer.
I graduated with honors in 2011 and was consistently among the top fitters in the country. I have been committed since day one to help my patients with their hearing loss. Difficult hearing losses are a challenge, but with my tenacity, I know I can help you improve your hearing. Nothing makes me happier than hearing my patients, who are more of an extension of my family, tell stories and explain how they are more active and able to do things they use to enjoy before they experienced hearing loss. I have the experience and most of all, I am committed to your better hearing. Together, we will accomplish what other hearing centers may not be able to, improve your lifestyle. It’s about you and how I can help you.”

Hearing Instrument Specialist, Student
Music has been the foundational passion of Sabrina’s life which has led her on most of her life’s journeys. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University, in Winter Park, FL in 2013. She reflects how greatly she enjoyed the program, and appreciates how it gave her a wonderful, technical foundation to understanding audio, sound, even the human ear’s frequency response. This has been a great benefit to understanding the industry she’s training to officially enter currently, once she becomes a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. Her graduation from Spokane Falls Community College with an Associate of Applied Science is set for June 2022. Shortly after that, she’ll complete all licensing requirements and be fully prepared and enthusiastic to enter the field as a professional in hearing health care.
Desi is the first person you will interact with when you make an appointment. Whether you talk to her over the phone or see her when you walk into the office, Desi is here to make sure you feel comfortable through your entire appointment. Desi comes to Stanwood Hearing with many years of experience as a front desk receptionist. She loves meeting all of the people who come into our office and finds it incredibly rewarding to see patients hear sounds they haven’t heard in many years.
Desi recently moved from Colorado to our great state of Washington. She has two boys and together they love going to the beach, hiking, and exploring.
